WE ALL DESERVE TO THRIVE
Performative allyship is hurting our community. We need our allies to show up and to honor their commitments towards building an equitable future.
Since January 1st, 2025 over 1,000 anti-Trans bills have been introduced into legislation —- stripping away access to healthcare, housing, education, and safety. But behind every bill is a person.
-
A young trans girl who won’t eat or drink at school so that she doesn’t have to face harassment while trying to use the restroom.
-
A disabled Black trans man denied health care during a vulnerable health scare.
-
A Two-Spirit elder trying to keep a roof overhead after losing work.
Trans Empowerment Project, is a BIPOC and Trans led organization who is focused on building the equitable future we deserve by centering the lives of Disabled, 2Spirit, Trans, Intersex, and Gender Expansive community members in everything we do.
From providing programming and community spaces that allow our community to move out of crisis and into empowerment through rest, joy, education, and advocacy. We offer microgrants, community care, and more to ensure that this community doesn’t just survive but gets to truly thrive!
We're moving people out of crisis and into empowerment
When someone reaches out to Trans Empowerment Project, they’re not just asking for help — they’re asking for a chance to breathe.
We answer with care, community, and strategy.
Through community connections, microgrants, and supportive programming, we help people stabilize their immediate needs. Then we go further — helping them rest, recharge, and rediscover joy through programs like Quest Collective, Sisterhood Not Cisterhood, and Ally Academy.
Our approach is simple but revolutionary:When we meet basic needs with compassion and build systems for rest, Trans people thrive — and thriving people change the world.
Rest Restores. Joy Liberates.
When we talk about liberation, we’re not just talking about policy or protest — we’re talking about the deep work of remembering what it feels like to be whole.
At Trans Empowerment Project, we believe rest is not laziness. It’s recovery. It’s what allows our people to move from constant survival into true empowerment.
Our community has carried the weight of injustice for generations. We’re rewriting that story — one where Trans, Disabled, and BIPOC folks are allowed to breathe, to dream, and to find joy in simply existing.
That’s why our programs are built around care and connection, not crisis. Through projects like Quest Collective, Joy & Healing, and Ally Academy, we’re redefining activism itself — turning rest, play, and laughter into tools for resistance and renewal.
Everyone Has a Role to Play in Building an Equitable Future
The work of liberation isn’t a solo act — it’s a community effort.
Every pledge signed, every dollar donated, every hour volunteered brings us one step closer to a world where Trans, Disabled, and BIPOC folks can thrive out of spite — not just survive in crisis.
Whether you’re part of our 2TIGE family or an ally ready to show up in deeper ways, there’s a place for you in this movement.
You don’t have to know everything.
You just have to start somewhere.

Finding Gender Euphoria at a Clothing Swap
Despite the fact that clothing is one of the most abundant resources on our planet, especially in the United States, where we are high subscribers to fast fashion, it can be incredibly difficult to access gender-affirming clothing that is affordable for our community.
From the discomfort of trying to shop in what may be an unaffirming and potentially unsafe space, to not having the cash needed to get the affirming clothing we want/need, clothing is one resource that the 2TIGE community is always in need of.
